Joulukalenteri - Christmas Calendar - vol. 8

Tunnustaudun joulumaterialistiksi, ihan tässä näin avoimesti. Koristeet on IHANIA, lahjoja on kiva tehdä ja paketoida, kuusi tuoksuu hyvältä ja niitä koristeita siihenkin on kiva ripustella. Aattona meillä saunan jälkeen aina pukeudutaan hienosti (ei nyt ihan parhaimpiin, mutta hienommin kuin arkena), katetaan pöytä nätiksi... Kukkia on paljon, kynttilöitä sisällä ja ulkona. Jouluvaloja unohtamatta! (Valoletkuista en tykkää, enkä kyllä Ihan kaikista muistakaan. Mutta suurin osa on oikein kauniita.)

Hereby I confess that I am one huge Xmas-materialist. It's all in the open now. The decorations are LOVELY, it's wonderful to make presents and wrap them, the tree (fir/spruce) smells good and we always decorate it too. On Christmas Eve we go to sauna in the afternoon, then dress up nicely (not in our very best, but nicer than normally), set the big table beautifully... There are lots of flowers, candles inside and outside the house. Without forgetting the Xmas lights! (I don't like those light-"hoses" and Every kind of lights, but Most of them certainly are very nice.)

Tänään esittelen päivän luukkuna väriteemaani sopivia otoksia :) Mikäs ihmeen teema moinen sitten on? Nooh... Meillä (eli mulla) on ollut tapana valita kuuseen 1-3 väriä tai joku muu teema (esim. käsityö / käsin tehty), sitten valittu koristeet sen perusteella. Vuosikaudet meidän (eli vanhempien nykyään) kuusi oli samanlainen (tosin pidän alkuperäistä kyllä edelleen kauniina :)), vanhoja olki- ja villalankakoristeita. Jonain vuonna sain päähäni kysyä äidiltä, josko voisin koristella kuusen tietyn teeman/idean mukaan - ja sainkin. Sen jälkeen on oikeastaan joka vuosi toimittu samoin (eli mä ehdotan/päätän teeman ja sen mukaan mennään). Kerran on ollut valko-sini-punainen, joskus oli mustan-ruskean-violetti, viime vuonna taisi olla Rohkelikko (vahingossa), eli puna-kulta/kelta-vihreä :D

Tänä vuonna haluaisin oikein supervärikkään, karkkipuun. Luultavasti tämä ei toteudu, mutta mikäli päädyn hankkimaan omankin kuusen, Se kyllä kuorrutetaan väreillä... ;)

Today I'm presenting a color scheme based selection of them, as my memory for today is the way I decorate the tree nowadays. What is the way then? Well. We (= I) choose 1-3 colors or a certain theme (for e.g. "hand-crafted"), then pick decorations to go with them (colors and/or the theme). For many years our (= my parents') tree was the same (though I think it was beautiful also then :)), old straw- and woollen yarn-decorations. One year I think I asked mom, if I could have a theme and she said yes. After that there's been one every year. Once it was white-blue-red, then black-brown-violet, last year it was red-gold/yellow-green (and looked like a Gryffindor house tree :D :D).

This year I'd like it to be very very very colorful, like a candy tree. Probably it won't be, but if I'll get a tree of my own (a small one), That one Will be "frosted with sugary things" ;)

Päivän biisi ei ole mikään erityinen suosikki tai muisto, kunhan on soinut päivän verran päässä :D Rakkautta vain-rainassa on kivampi versio tästä, kun se tyttö laulaa.
