Today is the 94th Independence Day of Finland. Feels like the nature honored it with the first proper snow cover during the night. In my opinion we have an interesting history. I got to experience war times a bit deeper few years ago, when I read the diary and some letters of my grandma's uncle from the Second World-war. Unfortunately he was one of those who fell, but it felt amazing to read personal moods (for example during the truce).

I could have put our national anthem here, but I won't (this time). Finlandia (by Jean Sibelius) is as impressive, and this video is from a very historical moment. Almost as significant as the original performance, the very first one. Helsinki got a new wonderful Music house and the opening concert had Finlandia in it, among other works.
Happy Birthday Finland, many happy ones after this!
